Risk Taking Mission

A couple weeks ago I traveled across miles and miles of Iowa fields to hear a presentation on risk taking mission and service. The scenic farmland gave plenty of time to think about how we engage in God’s mission.

I was particularly struck by two principles offered for consideration: commit to do one things and keep at it for a decade and then another, and offer people bite sized ways to give them a taste of the work. I think these are particularly helpful when considering how a church, or any organization really, might engage people in an effort to bring social, communal, and societal change.
